| This sample was taken a short distance downstream from where we perform chemical tests each month on the quality of the water. We intend to carry out biological tests at this site on a regular basis to monitor the long term effects that water quality has on invertebrate life in the stream. This sample was taken about 75 m downstream from the bridge. As the water depth was up to 2 m in places and there was no measurable flow, a flow chart was not possible. The range of Families present was unexpected. We were surprised at the number of cased caddis and the presence of Habrophlebia but no Baetidae. |
